The blood bank district wide challenge will be held again in Jan and Feb. 2013.  District 7010 would like to see all clubs in the district area participate in the "Blood Bank Challenge".

The Rotary Club of North Bay has registered as a ‘Partner for Life’, so if you or your family and friends are able to donate, please let the clinic know you are doing so on behalf of our Club.  The North Bay clinics (held at the Clarion Resort Pinewood Park) are scheduled for January 30-31 and February 27-28.

Greetings Fellow Rotarians,

Despite winter’s chill in the air, it is time to ‘roll-up our collective sleeves’ and seriously considering donating blood this January, February and early March in support of our own Rotary Blood Bank Challenge 2013!

This is the third year for this initiative. We, Rotary Kempenfelt, challenge you, friends, to donate blood and directly make a difference to patients in need. Every minute of the day someone in Canada needs blood. We can help those that need it.  We challenge you to do so. As the Canadian Blood Services ads state, ‘It is in us to give’.

This January 3rd to March 15th make sure you’ve got an appointment to get out to your local clinic and donate.  Check the enclosed eligibility sheet for information. Call 1 888 2 DONATE (1 888-236-6283) to find out where the closest clinic is to you; to schedule your appointment; to find out more information or with any questions you may have.

Each Rotary club is required to register as a Partner for Life. The form is here . As well, each donor participating is required to register on behalf of the Rotary club they are a member of.  Friends and family are encouraged to donate on behalf of your club as well. All donors may register as a member of the Partner for Life program on-line or at the clinic when they donate.

We encourage you to present this to your Club at an early December meeting.   If you are looking for a guest speaker or any additional support, Canadian Blood Services has the area ‘covered’ with Community Development Coordinators who would love to help any way they can.

Please email Julie Rose in Barrie (Julie.rose@blood.ca) to find out who is the rep for your area and they will be in touch.

Donating blood will take an hour or so of your time.  That’s a valuable commodity.  So is one’s life.  Rise to the challenge.  Check out the enclosed information.

Bragging rights are up for grabs! Which Club is up to the challenge to take the winning spot from last years winners the Barrie Rotaract Club

Sincerely,

Ross Watt
