District 7010 has a strong tradition of recruiting successful scholarship candidates who have studied internationally and gone on to represent their professions and Rotary in an exemplary manner. Melissa Toupin Laforge was a Peace Scholar (one of 50 selected world-wide each year) who studied at International Christian University in Japan.  If you follow this link Melissa Toupin Laforge Blog it will take you back in time and help you understand the power of the Fellowship experience.  Melissa was one of the Peace Fellows featured in a recent inside back page Instagram photo feature about Peace  in February addition of The Rotarian Magazine.  (There are some excellent tips about recruiting Peace Fellow candidates found at Peace Fellow recruiting tips.)

Katina Matheson Global Grant Scholar is currently pursuing an M.A in Charity Management at St. Mary's University in Twickenham, London, UK.  As you read her LinkedIn profile you will see some of her accomplishments and recognize how well her studies fit with the Rotary Areas of Focus.  I'm certain that she will be sharing her knowledge and experience widely upon her return.  Katina is a member of Rotaract.  Rotaract members are ideal candidates for scholarships.  Katina has been an asset to her hosts at the Rotary Club of Twickenham upon Thames.
